RPGeeking...

Hey guys, after Kublacon and the rush up to Quake City Rumble, I've been thinking about some role playing. I have two things in mind and would run something for the OP 4 if there's some interest.

#1. Iron Kingdoms/Warmachine Roleplaying

I have my hands on the Witchfire Campaign and that could be some fun.

#2. Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Oh ya, adventuring in the old world! Dark and gritty, think Mordheim with more detail and working together against the lurking evil and corruption! Plus you can start out in exciting careers such as ratcatcher, slave, baker, camp follower, etc....

Anyway, I'd be thinking of maybe 1 or 2 nights a month if you guys are interested.

Totally interested. Clark was thinking about play testing a necromunda rp crawl next week. I know that Ryder is also jazzed about doing something with the master maze that he stole from Kublacon. I am also very interested in getting a few games of WHFB in before the July Tournament, hopefully I can not suck as much this time.

I vote for WFRP. That was the system Ryder was planning on using for the Master Maze Dungeon Crawl (MMDC) and it would be cool if we were all familiar with the rules.
Hmmm... that baker looks alot like Jason Statham...

Iron Kingdoms has my vote. I just started browsing the forums on that the other day, saying although it looks like PP has dropped all support for it, it looks like a heck of fun.

I've actually been moving in a big way back toward roleplaying in the last 6-12 months. I used to roleplay heavily but some years ago I went in for miniatures more and the other got shelved for lack of time for both. But I still follow the scene with interest and am a rules junkie always.

Anyhow, I am almost surely going to be starting WFRP up here in the East Bay--I'm far along in the planning of a campaign.

And yes, as Clark mentions, I have a duty to y'all to serve up the Master Maze and I'm fairly excited about old fashioned dungeon crawls. I'm actually getting quite into the Otherworld style of retro-OD&D-aesthetic d&d and I've been collecting figs for it in 09. But the stuff won't be painted in time to run anything this summer, so. . . WFRP has become the system I plan to use for the dungeon crawl in part because I can serve up painted baddies and in part because I it's probably my favorite gaming universe of all ("Golden Age" mid-to-late 80s style Warhammer that is.

More on the Master Maze business in another post . . . don't want to derail . . .

All this to get back to the post topic. . . I would love to play in your game, CB, whichever you choose, but with my other gaming comittments I probably can't commit to be there for it. :(

As for the choice, my running the WFRP for the dungeon crawl could mean you get some experience with the system as Clark says, so could be good. But just also consider whether you think there'd be WFRP overload with two campaigns of it going at the same time.

Of course those two campaigns could differ wildly. The two WFRP campaigns I'm going to run (the dungeon crawl and the one in the east bay (which you are all cordially invited to of course) are going to be night and day different. The dungeon crawl hopes to be the Grindhouse of WFRP - retro sensationalism, trying to capture the original magic, miniatures-centric, while the campaign here in the east bay is going to be the Wild Bunch or Unforgiven of WFRP, revisionist, lots of intrigue, strong "fading west" theme.

I'm leaning more along the lines of doing WHFB system. I have some experience with OD&D (I have all the models digitized if anyone needs them). i would be more then happy to DM a small expedition for you guys, if that is something that would tickle your fancy and fantasy. Is this something people would be interested in checking out this Wednesday? I could put something together fairly easily, the only thing that I would need is access to somehting that I can draw on and Clarks Terrain. Anyways, let me know.
